Code of Conduct
This Code of Conduct outlines the professional, inclusive, and respectful standards expected of everyone using College Basketball Network.

College Basketball Network is built to strengthen lifelong relationships across the college basketball community. Every member, partner, and guest contributes to the tone and quality of that environment. This Code of Conduct applies to all interactions on our platform, at virtual events, and during in-person network activities.
1. Our Community Principles
Members are expected to act with:
- Respect: Treat others with professionalism, dignity, and courtesy across all communications.
- Integrity: Share truthful information, represent credentials accurately, and avoid deceptive behavior.
- Inclusion: Support an environment where people of all backgrounds feel safe and welcome.
- Accountability: Take responsibility for your words, actions, and impact on other members.
2. Expected Behavior
We expect members to:
- Engage in constructive, professional discussion even when disagreements arise.
- Use community tools and messaging features in ways that are relevant and helpful.
- Respect privacy, confidentiality, and personal boundaries.
- Support fair networking and mentorship opportunities across programs and generations.
- Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and platform policies.
3. Prohibited Conduct
The following behavior is prohibited and may lead to enforcement action:
- Harassment, hate speech, threats, intimidation, stalking, or bullying.
- Discrimination based on race, color, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or protected status.
- Unwanted sexual attention, explicit sexual content, or inappropriate contact.
- Impersonation, fraud, misinformation, or misrepresentation of identity, affiliations, or opportunities.
- Spam, solicitation abuse, phishing attempts, or distribution of malicious links/files.
- Unauthorized collection or disclosure of personal data.
- Retaliation against any person who reports a concern in good faith.
4. Content and Communication Standards
- Keep posts and messages relevant to community, career, basketball, or alumni interests.
- Avoid inflammatory language, personal attacks, and public shaming.
- Do not post content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or infringing.
- Respect intellectual property and attribution requirements.
5. Events and Professional Networking
For online and in-person events, members must follow host instructions, venue rules, and applicable safety guidance. Recruiting, sponsorship, and business outreach must be transparent and respectful, with no coercive or deceptive tactics.
6. Reporting Concerns
If you experience or witness behavior that may violate this Code, report it as soon as possible through our contact page. Include relevant details such as usernames, dates, links, screenshots, or other context when available.
7. Review and Enforcement
We review reports promptly and may take action based on severity, pattern, and risk, including:
- Informal warning or educational guidance.
- Content removal or account-level restrictions.
- Temporary suspension from specific features or the full platform.
- Permanent account termination.
- Referral to law enforcement when required by law or safety considerations.
We may act on credible evidence, including user reports and internal review signals. Repeated violations may result in escalated consequences.
8. Good-Faith Reports and Non-Retaliation
We prohibit retaliation against individuals who report concerns or participate in an investigation in good faith. Knowingly false or malicious reports may themselves be treated as a policy violation.
9. Changes to This Code
We may update this Code of Conduct periodically to reflect community needs, legal requirements, and operational changes. Material updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
